Technical reports, certificates and expert testimony for the administration of justice.
Forensic findings serve justice only if they can be presented and tested in court. The Government Chemist provides:
- Technical reports and certificates based on scientific findings;
- Expert evidence in courts of law for the administration of justice.
Officers of the Forensic Science division also attend scenes of crime for technical support and the collection of samples, and present expert evidence in court.
Government Chemist analysts are gazetted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act to sample seized drugs.
